1st International Conference on Advances in Drug Discovery and Development (ICAD3)


Department of Biochemistry AWKUM is organizing an international conference: “1st International Conference on Advances in Drug Discovery and Development (ICAD3)” jointly organized by PARC Islamabad. Conference will be organized in NARC, Islamabad on 3-5th January, 2018. Prof. Dr. Atta-ur-Rehman (FRS, N.I, H.I, S.I, T.I,), UNESCO Science Laureate, HEC founder and former HEC chairman will be the chief guest of the conference. 

Dr. Zahida Parveen, Assistant Professor Department of Biochemistry, AWKUM is the chief organizer and Dr. Mohibullah Shah, Assistant Professor Department of Biochemistry is the conference secretary. Conference co-organizers are Prof. Dr. Salimullah Khan, Chairman Pharmacy Department, Dr. Asad Ali, Chairman Agriculture Department, ORIC AWKUM. The deadline for abstract submission for oral and poster presentation is 15th Nov while for registration is 25th Nov, 2017. Registration desk for the facilitation is available in the Department of Environmental Science, AWKUM (Biological Science Block, 3rd floor). International Conference on Computational and Social Sciences (ICCSS-17)



Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan has organized an international conference titled “International Conference on Computational and Social Sciences (ICCSS-17)” in collaboration with Pekalongan University, a renowned University of Indonesia. The three days conference is commencing from November 15, 2017 to November 17, 2017. Scholars from different nationalities, including United Kingdom, China, Malaysia, turkey, Poland, Nigeria, and Jordan etc, have shown interest in the Conference and have submitted their research papers.

Dr. Amir Zaman, Conference Co-Chair, has informed that only quality research papers will be selected and strict quality standards have been maintained. The quality of research papers can be seen from the number of papers submitted and accepted i.e. more than 500 papers have been received yet and after thorough evaluation only 150 research papers will be accepted for presentation in the conference.

The Co-Chair also added that one of the aims of this conference is to provide a platform for young researchers to learn about contemporary research developments and express their views with world’s renowned researchers.

National Youth Carnival-2017



The Directorate of Youth Affairs, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa through Liaison Corporation visited the Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan on 23rd October, 2017 for   different youth competition trials under the theme “National Youth Carnival-2017”, in collaboration with office of University Advancement Cell & Career Development Center and Pakhtunkhwa College of Arts.

The trials were conducted for the upcoming National Youth Carnival-2017, comprising of 30 different youth competitions. Students from all departments of the university efficiently participated in more than 25 categories with zeal and zest. 

In the said trials, some of the successfully qualified students were shortlisted for provincial level competitions, succeeding to national level performance.
