MNA and Chairperson “True Worth Foundation” Ms. Zahra Wadood Fatemi visited AWKUM, Bacha Khan Campus Chitral

Member National Assembly and Chairperson "True Worth Foundation" Ms. Zahra Wadood Fatemi visited Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, Bacha Khan Campus Chitral; dated 24-Aug-16. Being a representative from National Assembly, the purpose of her visit was to make herself aware about the issues being faced by the students of Chitral while attaining higher education and those issues she may further communicate to the house.

A formal session in this regard was arranged in campus auditorium where all the faculty members, administrative staff and students participated with great zest and zeal. The program formally started with the recitation of the Holy Quran followed by welcome speech from Assistant Professor Dr. Jamal Shah, department of Political Science. In his speech after welcoming the distinguished guests, he gave a brief introduction of Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan and Bacha Khan Campus Chitral, he also highlighted the successful milestones the institution has achieved during the very short period under the leadership of honorable Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ahsan Ali (SI). The program further progressed with the speech of honorable chief guest Ms. Zahra Wadood Fatemi where she appreciated the vision and efforts of honorable Vice Chancellor in the field of education. She also insisted that the youth in Chitral specially females should avail this golden opportunity of getting higher education at door step.

She further declared that it is only and only education that can ensure personal and professional development. The session further advanced with the speech of student's representative who briefly explained the issues faced by the students of Chitral in getting higher education. In the end, the honorable Coordinator Mr. Zia ur Rehman addressed the audience by shedding further light on the role of higher education in economic, social and political transformation of nations. He also added that the future of Pakistan is youth, and it is the responsibility of the state that the youth may be prepared and equipped for better future of the country. He formally thanked honorable chief guest for her visit and interest in Bacha khan Campus Chitral and appreciated her intentions of representing student's issues in the house. The program concluded with the presentation of University Memorial to the honorable chief guest by Campus Coordinator Mr. Zia ur Rehman and Assistant Administration Officer Mr. Muhammad Hassan.
