Dr. Farman Ali, Assistant Professor of Agriculture, Published Two Papers

1.  A survey of entomopathogenic nematodes from Otago, New Zealand, with the first record of Steinernema kraussei (Steiner, 1923) (Rhabditida:Steinernematidae) from the Southern Hemisphere. New Zealand Journal of Zoology (Impact factor 0.8).

2. Using next-generation sequencing to detect differential expression genes in Bradysia odoriphaga after exposure to insecticides. International Journal of Molecular Sciences (Impact factor 3.22)

Department of Management Sciences Timergara Campus, Organized a “Talent Award Show”

Department of management sciences Timergara Campus, organized a “Talent Award Show” on the eve of Monday, November 20, 2017. “Young Management Forum” played a vital role in its organization. The faculty and students paid homage to the inspiring students of the department and presented shields and certificates of appreciation to the position holders in various batches of all the three departments. The event was also marked by poems, skits, poetry and songs.

Mr. Nadeemul Haq, Incharge department of Management Sciences, and Mr. Minhaj-ud-Din, Coordinator Timergara Campus, graced the occasion. They stressed the need for quality in education which has always been the hall mark of the department. Students from various batches of the department thronged the event and appreciated the efforts of the department regarding the curricular and co-curricular development.

Divisional Trials for National Youth Carnival-2017

The office of University Advancement Cell & Career Development Center officials along with faculty members from Pakhtunkhwa College of Arts and Department of English , Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan with the qualified students of institutional trials from various departments of the university visited Peshawar Sports Complex Peshawar on 15th November-2017 for participation in the divisional trials of National Youth Carnival-2017, a project of the Directorate of Youth Affairs, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

All the divisional level competitive students were selected after participation and selection in the institutional trials held on 23rd October-2017 at Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, in which all departments and constituent colleges of the university were invited.

The divisional trials were conducted for the upcoming provincial level competitions of National Youth Carnival-2017, comprising of 30 different youth competitions in which students from different departments and constituent colleges of the university efficiently participated in more than 25 categories with zeal and zest. 

The event was successful in esteem of student’s participation on behalf of Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan. All the judges and concern authorities appreciated and enjoyed the participation of Abdul Wali Khan University students and encouraged their achievement to the upcoming provincial competitions.

In the said divisional trials, most of the effectively participated students were shortlisted for provincial level competitions, succeeding to national level performance.

Dr. Mubarak Ali Khan is Awarded for Research Achievement in the Category of Best Research Paper Award

Dr. Mubarak Ali Khan, Assistant Professor, Department of Biotechnology, was awarded for research achievement in the category of Best Research Paper Award in the 6th HEC Outstanding Research Awards 2015/2016.

AWKUM Timergara Campus Organized a Workshop on "Re-Inventing the Pakistani Dream"

The newly-formed "Research & Innovation Center", at Abdul Wali Khan University, Timergara Campus, organized a seminar in collaboration with "Dil Say Pakistan”. Themed as "Reinventing the Pakistani Dream", the seminar was aimed to provide the students with a firm and augmented picture of the Pakistani ideology and its various outlooks. Mr. Umair Vahidy, a prominent speaker, was the Guest Speaker. He emphasized the importance of patriotism in youth and held interactive sessions with his audience in order to reinvigorate the nationalistic spirit in an era of anarchy and mass polarization.
Mr. Minhaj-u-din, Coordinator Timergara Campus, thanked the Guest Speaker, students and organizers on the occasion. He stressed the need for such events which are aimed to inculcate the spirit of unity and purposefulness. He also lauded the spirit of the "Research & Innovation Center", at Timergara Campus, which took great pains and efforts to organize and host the activity in a very short span of time.
