Awareness Session On “Prosperity Cup” At Awkum, Bacha Khan Campus, Chitral

An awareness session on “Prosperity Cup” an initiative of Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) to accelerate enterprise growth was organized by AWKUM, Bacha Khan Campus Chitral in collaboration with Aga Khan Rural Support Program (AKRSP) and Enterprise Growth Accelerator (EGA). The session started with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran followed by a welcome speech delivered by Campus Events’ and Seminars’ In-charge Mr. Hussain Ali where he formally introduced the panel and shed light on the need of enterprises in modern days for boosting the economy.

Later on the guest speaker Mr. Karim (program Coordinator Prosperity Cup) provided a detailed orientation about this initiative. He claimed that; from prosperity cup every person belonging to Chitral or Gilgit Baltistan can reap the benefits. All they need to do is to submit a business idea which will formally be evaluated by the experts of prosperity cup. In case the idea is accepted by the panel, the applicant entrepreneur will not only be funded to implement the idea but technical and managerial assistance will also be provided using the expertise of already established entrepreneurs.

The session further progressed with the speech of Ms. Nighat Yasmeen (Manager Gender & Development, AKRSP) where she whole heartedly thanked the management of Bacha Khan Campus Chitral for arranging a successful event in collaboration with her team. She further expressed that likewise sessions will be arranged time and again and Bacha Khan Campus Chitral will be kept in loop so that the students are fully aware of entrepreneurial activities.

In the end, Campus Coordinator Mr. Zia-ur-Rehman was called on for conclusive remarks. Honorable coordinator addressed the audience in general and the graduating students of Economics and Business Studies in particular to seriously avail the business opportunities provided in the form of prosperity cup. He further explained that he in his career has not witnessed such a generous entrepreneurial funding where there is no restriction of interest, no re-payment time constraints. The session ended with a formal vote of thanks to the guest speakers of prosperity cup and appreciation to the events and seminar cell of the campus.
