The International Center For Agricultural Research In The Dry Areas (ICARDA-Syria-Jordan) Sanctioned A Research Project To AWKUM

Team from ICARDA led by Dr. Abdul Majid (Country Manager for Pakistan) visited Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan and had a meeting with the senior faculty of Agriculture and Botany Department and personnel from Administration of AWKUM on 18.01.2017. The meeting was chaired by Prof. Dr. Ikramullah Khan, Chairman Department of Botany. Other members of the team were Dr. Asad Ali (Chairman Agriculture Deptt), Ms Nazia (Agriculture Department), Mr. Tariq Mehmood (ORIC), Mr. Shah Hussain (QEC), Mr Saim Suhail (DOW) and Dr. Humaira Gul, Assistant Professor, Botany Department. Prof. Dr. Ikramullah Khan welcomed the delegates from ICARDA and introduced his AWKUM team with them. In this meeting mutual research collaborations, joint seminars and trainings were discussed. ICARDA approved one mega project for AWKUM, which will be run jointly by the Department of Agriculture and Botany. ICARDA also ensured support for more projects. They also appreciated the fastest growth of AWKUM and the honest efforts of the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ihsan Ali for uplifting this university up to the peaks in such a short period of time. The meeting was adjourned with vote of thanks from Prof. Dr. Ikramullah Khan.
