Tender Notice For The Purchase of Expendables And Microscopes
Sealed bids are invited from the interested
firm/companies registered with tax departments for the purchase of Expendables
(Glasswares and Consumables) and Microscopes for Department of Microbiology, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan.
1. The tender must reach the Procurement office
on or before February 15, 2018 at 1100 hrs and will be opened on the same
day at 1200 hrs in the presence of the suppliers or their authorized
representatives. Detail and specifications along with tender documents may be
obtained from the Procurement Office, Garden Campus @ Rs.2000/-(Non Refundable)
in duty hours (8:00 to 16:00 hrs).
2. Earnest Money of the tender will be 2% of the

Department of Microbiology Organized Symposium on Grant Proposal Writing
The
Department of Microbiology organized "1st Graduate Students Symposium on
Grant Proposal Writing". All M.
Phil students of the department presented posters on grant proposals on diverse
research topics in the discipline of microbiology. Exciting part of the event
was interactive sessions between the faculty of microbiology, poster presenters
and graduate and undergraduate students from the department of microbiology and
neibouring departments. It was not only training for the participants but also
a source of inspiration for all other graduate students of the university. Later
on, the Chairman of the Department Dr. Hazir Rahman appreciated the principal
organiser of the symposium Dr Tahir Hussain for holding such a wonderful event
in limited resources, and all the participants for their efforts and
contribution in making the event a success. At the end, Dr. Hazir Rahman
awarded “Certificate of Appreciation” to M. Phil student Ms. Aneela Akram for
best poster presentation.

Dr Sadeeq ur Rahman, Presented an Invited Talk at The International Bhurban Conference
Dr Sadeeq ur Rahman, Princiapl College of Veterinary
Sciences and Animal Husbandary presented an invited talk at the
International Bhurban Conference on Applied Sciences and Technology (IBCAST) at
National Centre for Physics, Islamabad on 10-01-2018. Dr Sadeeq talked on the recent increase of
antibiotic resistance in food producing animals and animal products such as
milk. He talked on the mechanism of spread of resistance that he discovered
during his research over the last five years. Almost 80 scientists/scholars
from different countries were present at the occasion. At the end, he was
presented with a vote of thanks and a certificate.

Visit of Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. M. Khurshid Khan to Timergara Campus
The Honorable Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. M.
Khurshid Khan, paid a visit to AWKUM (Timergara Campus) on January 08, 2018. In
his maiden visit to the campus, he appreciated the efforts of the Coordinator,
Mr. Minhaj-ud-Din, faculty and administrative staff of the campus for their
valuable efforts in maintaining the academic and professional environment of
the campus. He stressed the importance of quality in education which is the
hall-mark of AWKUM. He reiterated his resolve that AWKUM (Timergara campus) will
always cater to the educational needs of the people in far- flung areas and
will always strive for the betterment of the people.
On this occasion, he inaugurated the recently constructed Security Room and appreciated the efforts of the coordinator in this regard. He also promised his support in resolving the genuine issues that the campus has been facing. He thanked the staff at campus for their warm hospitality and promised to ameliorate and augment the general condition of the campus in the very near future.
