Professor Dr. Ikramullah Khan took over the charge as Professor (BPS-21) of Botany and Chairman Department of Botany on 17.11.2016. Dr. Ikramullah Khan is a well-known botanist. He has completed his M.Sc. and M. Phil. (Botany) from the Department of Botany, University of Peshawar, Pakistan. Then in 2008, he was selected for the University of Queensland Research Scholarship for his PhD studies. He completed his PhD from the School of Land, Crop and Food Sciences, The University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia. He has also done his Post-Doctorate from the UAE University Al Ain, UAE. His Post-Doctoral studies were fully sponsored by the UAE University Al Ain. Before joining this university, he was working in the University of Agriculture Peshawar. He is among the pioneers and founders of Weed Science discipline in the University of Agriculture, Peshawar. Dr. Ikramullah Khan is well known scientist and attended different scientific conferences around the world such as in Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Sri Lanka, UAE and Pakistan etc. and presented his research findings and won different awards. He is a member different national and international scientific societies and has developed linkages with different national and international universities and research organizations.
Dr. Khan appreciated the leadership of the Abdul Wali Khan University and particularly the honorable Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ihsan Ali (T.I) for his dynamic leadership, excellent selection of the faculty and particularly in the Department of Botany from all over Pakistan. Dr. Khan called Prof. Dr. Ihsan Ali as a visionary leader and appreciated his excellent efforts for Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan. Dr Ikramullah Khan is very much happy to join the team of Prof. Dr. Ihsan Ali and his team and he is expecting to bring few mega projects, develop linkages with national and international research organizations, organize national and international conferences, workshops and seminars, improve the quality of research, attract funding agencies for his research and to take Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan into peaks.
