9th Board of Studies Meeting of the Department of Botany, AWKUM

9^th Board of Studies meeting of the Department of Botany, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan was held in the Main Library on 07.08.2017. Prof. Dr. Ikramullah Khan, Chairman, Department of Botany, Chaired the meeting. Other members of the Board of Studies including Prof. Dr. Abdur Rashid, Department of Botany, University of Peshawar, Dr. Khadim Muhammad Dawar, Department of Soil and Environmental Sciences, The University of Agriculture, Peshawar, Dr. Naveed Akhtar, Department of Botany, Islamia College, Peshawar, Prof. Dr. Raham Sher, Chairman, Department of Biotechnology, Prof. Dr. Asad Ali, Chairman, Department of Agriculture, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, Prof. Dr. Waheed Murad, Dr. Muhammad Irshad and Dr. Humaira Gul, Department of Botany, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, and all other faculty members of the Department of Botany, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan attended the meeting. The Meeting was started with the recitation of the Holy Quran. After that new member of the BOS were introduced.

In this meeting various academic issues including the quality of research and theses were thoroughly discussed. All members gave their technical inputs for the improvement of quality of research & theses and the following decisions were made:

1.      For M. Phil and PhD one compulsory seminar was approved.

2.      One PhD and 39 M. Phil synopses were approved.

3.      Student’s presence in GSC and BOS were approved.

4.      Both internal subject experts and foreign examiners list for theses evaluation of M. Phil and PhD was updated and approved.

5.      Thesis titles of two PhD candidates were discussed, changed and approved.

At the end, Prof. Dr. Ikramullah Khan, Chairman, Department of Botany thanked all members of the Board of Studies.
